The Compromising for Popularity, Power, Prestige, and Position

Changing the Word of God is what you call religious and sinful (Deuteronomy 4:2).  The 21st Century Pharisees (far-to-see) and Sadducees (sad-to-see) movement is still trotting upon the plains of our hills today functioning and doing no different than that of Jesus' day.  But Jesus called them out on it, and trust me, the Master wasn't afraid to do so either.

Listen here and read the text in Matthew 23:27-28: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!  You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.  In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.”

So check it!  Was Christ hateful when He spoke these words of truth?  Was Christ hateful when he overthrew the tables of the money-changers at the temple in John 2:15?  Was he indirectly hateful when he stooped down and began writing on the sands where the woman who had been caught in adultery stood?

I always wondered what Jesus wrote on the sands that day.  Have you?  Could he have written some of the secret and sinful things the accusers themselves were committing and it was only because their "stuff" hadn't hit the roof yet?   The Bible never states what Jesus wrote but it tells us that while he was still writing, one by one walked away until there was no man standing to accuse her.

Christ calls us out of darkness.  He beckons us to come out from among them and be separate (2 Corinthians 6:17-18).  He calls us out from the world because sin is a contaminator.  Separation is a must because sin pollutes and poisons the spiritual man.  Yet, it is a choice; a choice that one makes to comply or disobey; one that requires submission, yet, one that is never imposed on or forced.   Then, after He has calls us and we answer the call, He begins to instruct us on how we should live.

But you’ll find in this Christian journey that people, as they did Jesus, will despise you, hate you, and “chat” you because of truth.  You see, truth has a way of touching us in the most uncomfortable places; places we desire no change.  Truth, like light, exposes darkness.  It has a way of stepping on our toes and seeping into the crevices of our hearts, and once it has infiltrated our space, it PRICKS IT.

But don’t be afraid to speak out against those who attempt to distort the Word of the Lord.  Jeremiah faced a whole generation of hard-headed, stiff-necked people.  Jeremiah 1:15-19 served as an encouraging word for him and so shall it serve as an encouragement and strength to us today: 15For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. 16And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands. 17Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them. 18For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. 19And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.

Sometimes speaking the truth in love doesn’t come across lovely to those whose reject truth.  People will call you self-righteous, self-appointed, and hateful when you speak against sin.  When you start naming and speaking against the things that God Himself calls unclean, unholy, filthy, abominable, or dirty, they will start calling you self-righteous.  But keep preaching and teaching anyway.  Like Noah, the day will come when the door will be shut by God’s hand and men will reap the rewards of their own hand.  Keep loving, praying, but NEVER COMPROMISE the Word of God for position, power, prestige, or popularity.

Many people don’t understand the difference between loving the sinner and hating the sin.  For those who have been a bit shy about speaking on the topic of gay and lesbianism and President Obama’s sudden change on the subject, here’s my answer.  The conclusion drawn about homosexuality in the Word of God is this: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. (Lev 18:22).  There is no other interpretation or revelation needed. Case closed!

I love all people but draw a line when it comes to defending the Word of God on any subject matter.  But drawing the line doesn’t mean I stop loving and become hateful and mean to those who may choose to live differently.  I love people, and it is because of this love, that I continue to share the Word of Truth as Jesus did.  I speak openly and freely about homosexuality as I would any other subject according to the Bible.  The Word of God is my measuring stick; so naturally, I am very careful to measure EVERYTHING by what the Word of God has to say about the topic.

A STOP SIGN’s message is a visual object intended to communicate to us that when we reach the end of the road we must come to an absolute halt.  I can choose to ignore the sign or even become ludicrous in my stinking thinking, read it backwards because I FEEL LIKE going contrary to the logic that we read from left to right and receive a totally different message - POTS.  That’s what the antichrist movement does; it changes and interprets the Word of God to suit, justify, and fulfill its own desires.  It is ANTI – AGAINST Christ and all that the Word of God teaches.  It is skillfully spawn to lure you away from Christ, and at the end of the journey, will lead you straight into the belly of hell.

I'm not religious folks.  I am saved, sanctified, and set apart and make no apologies for it.
