The Turntables of Religious Controversy

Jesus' teaching often found its way onto the turntables of religious controversy.  What He taught messed with their minds, convicted their conscious, and tapped danced around their doctrines of religiosity.  While His teachings enraged the religious sect, it revolutionized the generation of His day through the power of His love and grace.

While the religious folks were on the inside doing business as usual with the other "religious folks", attending to the rules of the "this and that" and tightening the protocols of the "do's and dont's", Jesus was found outside at the gates, the pools, and the wayside, breaking the powers of racism and segregation like at the well, healing on the Sabbath, and on the streets where the lame, the sick, the broken, wounded, hungry, and thirsty were to be found.

One day, Jesus called the religious leaders of His day a bunch of thieves and robbers (Mark 11:17-19), and as a result of being exposed for what they were, they sought to kill him. Verse 19 then tells us that He then departed out of that city.  To answer the call of GOD on your life means standing in the line of fire.  It means risking popularity and losing friendships and camaraderie because people rather keep religion, tradition, and culture than being set free by the power of His Word.

When your teaching is influencing and effective, when it begins to EXPOSE the works of the devil and where darkness is abiding, the enemy will send a B.O.L.O. (Be On the Lookout Out) alert on your life.  He will use, hello ---> people to try and assassinate the work of GOD in you.  But be encouraged.  The work of GOD cannot be stopped.  If He's using you as a prophet, then prophesy! If He's using you as a teacher, then teach!  If He's using you as an evangelist, then evangelize!  If He's using you as a pastor, then feed the sheep.  If He's using you as an apostle, then go forth in your assignment.

Jesus already told us that we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony. Whatever GOD has called you to do, do it!  For as He called Jeremiah to a stiff-necked, hardheaded people, He's called you from before your mother's womb.  So now, gird up your loins and arise.  Speak to them all that He commands you to speak and do not be dismayed (appalled, horrified, shocked, shaken (up), disconcerted, take aback, alarmed, unnerved, unsettled, thrown off balance, discomposed; disturbed, upset, distressed; rattled, and fazed) AT THEIR FACES, lest the LORD confounds you before them. For it is the LORD that has made you THIS DAY a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes, against the priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you. For the LORD Himself is with you, says the LORD, to deliver you. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
Mark 11:17-19 -  17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. 18And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. 19And when even was come, he went out of the city.
