The Silence of the Lambs

Sweeping things under the rug can lead to only one thing, a heavy heart harboring unnecessary toxins that will weigh you down and potentially kill you. No wonder you can't sleep, tossing and turning all night and all day; having all kinds of attacks: asthma attacks, heart attacks, head attacks, mind attacks. Until you ask the LORD to shake the spiritual rug of your life, and until you are willing to confront what you fear, stand up to what's got you hiding in secret, and what's keeping you in bondage like a caged bird, you will continue to suffer from those evil and nasty dust bunnies that have made your heart and mind their home.

The enemy wants to make you feel like you are all alone in whatever you are going through. You are not and neither do you have to bear it alone. There are many of us that have gone through that dark pit you're experiencing. We, too, have camped by its fires and slumbered in its tight evil grip; having near death experiences of slipping and drowning in the Lake of Despair.

Yet, I don't blame you. No, I do not blame you for refusing to open up. We have used the pulpits as weapons and sat in pews to tell your stuff. We haven't been role models and examples of godly and virtuous women. In fact, we've been mean and ugly, and at times, more vicious than the world. We've been snobs, turned our eyes, and held back our hands from reaching out to you. Your disconnection is justified. We've given you every right to feel the way you do.

We added to your hurt when we made you believe that we had everything in our lives in working order and in check. That we had "perfect" marriages, "perfect" relationships, "perfect" ministries, and that we faced no struggles. We only showed you the best manmade masks of pretense and you bought it. We graced our heads with wigs and tracks of pride, that now, if you take them off, you would never recognize us. We laced our ears, necks, arms, hands, and feet with the shackles of glitz and glam in order to deflect the oozing pain flowing from our pores. We painted our faces to help diminish the wrinkles and scars; one that would project an illusion other than the “real me”. But it never lasted long because twelve o’clock always came, and by the time we got home, it would all be washed away from the water that fell from our eyes.

Some of us did not do it because we were trying to be mean and ugly like the others; it was our way of surviving, yet, we did it anyway. Like you, we were scared too, and like you, we did not find the spiritual mothers to help us, to dress us, to teach us. Just like you, we were left to fend for ourselves, trusting no one with what we deemed precious to our hearts because there was no one to be found that could relate to our struggle, our pain. We were taught to pray with one eye opened, and while everyone was shouting from the rooftop “Be honest!”, NO ONE around was being honest and transparent enough to keep it real

So, why should you be transparent with anyone, right? Nobody is telling you, that like Job, they were living right before the LORD when their husbands and wives decided to get up and abandoned them. No one is giving you the raw and uncut version so that you could truly see that if it had not been for GOD's power and grace that intervened at the right time, they would have committed homicide, double homicide, and yes, even triple homicide. They have not dared to share that even as a woman or man of GOD, they had to fight with themselves to oppose, seemingly, what would have ended up a tragedy. Remember David, a man that the LORD called after His own heart, had Uriah murdered.

Nobody is telling you to look out for Oppression, Depression, and Suppression, and that these three are capable of sneaking into your bedroom unnoticed to rape and molest you until you are numb. Nobody is taking the time to take you by the hand to walk "this thing" out and help cast “this thing out”. Is there anybody there?

I know you haven't felt hurt, disappointed, and betrayed like when you've been hurt, disappointed, and betrayed by your own "church folk", because those who knew better and where suppose to do better, didn't. Like Jesus, when He was feeling abandoned by the Father, you have come to know what it is to cry out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46).

The "Silence of the Lambs" syndrome ends when you get up and confront it with the resurrected power of Christ. You will not CONQUER what you are not willing to CONFRONT. Jesus wants to walk through the corridors of your brokenness. He wants to walk through the secret chambers of your wounded heart in order to give you the healing and deliverance you need. He wants to remove all those temporary dirty bandages you call your garment and pour out His healing balm all over you. The opportunity for you to be free from that which binds you has come. Will you let Him in? Will you allow the spiritual midwives He is sending to help?

The Turntables of Religious Controversy

Jesus' teaching often found its way onto the turntables of religious controversy.  What He taught messed with their minds, convicted their conscious, and tapped danced around their doctrines of religiosity.  While His teachings enraged the religious sect, it revolutionized the generation of His day through the power of His love and grace.

While the religious folks were on the inside doing business as usual with the other "religious folks", attending to the rules of the "this and that" and tightening the protocols of the "do's and dont's", Jesus was found outside at the gates, the pools, and the wayside, breaking the powers of racism and segregation like at the well, healing on the Sabbath, and on the streets where the lame, the sick, the broken, wounded, hungry, and thirsty were to be found.

One day, Jesus called the religious leaders of His day a bunch of thieves and robbers (Mark 11:17-19), and as a result of being exposed for what they were, they sought to kill him. Verse 19 then tells us that He then departed out of that city.  To answer the call of GOD on your life means standing in the line of fire.  It means risking popularity and losing friendships and camaraderie because people rather keep religion, tradition, and culture than being set free by the power of His Word.

When your teaching is influencing and effective, when it begins to EXPOSE the works of the devil and where darkness is abiding, the enemy will send a B.O.L.O. (Be On the Lookout Out) alert on your life.  He will use, hello ---> people to try and assassinate the work of GOD in you.  But be encouraged.  The work of GOD cannot be stopped.  If He's using you as a prophet, then prophesy! If He's using you as a teacher, then teach!  If He's using you as an evangelist, then evangelize!  If He's using you as a pastor, then feed the sheep.  If He's using you as an apostle, then go forth in your assignment.

Jesus already told us that we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word of our testimony. Whatever GOD has called you to do, do it!  For as He called Jeremiah to a stiff-necked, hardheaded people, He's called you from before your mother's womb.  So now, gird up your loins and arise.  Speak to them all that He commands you to speak and do not be dismayed (appalled, horrified, shocked, shaken (up), disconcerted, take aback, alarmed, unnerved, unsettled, thrown off balance, discomposed; disturbed, upset, distressed; rattled, and fazed) AT THEIR FACES, lest the LORD confounds you before them. For it is the LORD that has made you THIS DAY a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes, against the priests, and against the people of the land. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you. For the LORD Himself is with you, says the LORD, to deliver you. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
Mark 11:17-19 -  17And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. 18And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. 19And when even was come, he went out of the city.

The Church is Playing the Field

So many "church buildings" but not many CHURCHES. The CHURCH is the true body of Christ, but she is out playing the field; playing in the fields of immorality.

The Church and the World use to walk far apart. Now, you barely notice her. She calls unto Me with her lips but with her heart lies another lover. Her garments of pure are now crested and infested with Babylonian adoration. Idols sit on the altars of what was once pure and holy.

The Church has allowed Babylon to filter into my house that use to be called the house of prayer but now are a den of thieves. It has become a market place of pure entertainment, sensual, and worldly feasts of pleasures.

Spiritually undiscerning lax leaders are causing sheep to drink from the polluted fountains of idolatry. But I will require of those who have placed a stumbling block and caused others to fall. Woe unto the pastors!

Yet, I am still calling and still not desiring that any perish. Behold, I come quickly. He that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is saying unto the Churches.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
Jeremiah 23:1-2
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

Revelation 2:12-17
To the angel of the church in Pergamum write:
These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword. 13I know where you live—where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, not even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city—where Satan lives.

14Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin so that they ate food sacrificed to idols and committed sexual immorality. 15Likewise, you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

17Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

New Levels, New Devils

We battle not against flesh and blood but against ---> the ranks ---> principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places. When your life becomes spiritually influential in Christ, you are considered armed and dangerous.

A BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for your arrest will be issued as you begin to step on the turf of these geographical demonic gate-keepers.  You will experience attacks and assaults of all kinds.  Whoever told you that you wouldn't has not prepared you for the real life of a Christian soldier and neither have they distributed the whole counsel of GOD.

Just as our Father has a Kingdom, an army, and an established order, so does our enemy.  Too many people are getting beat up because they either don't know their Kingdom rights or they know them but fail to exercise them.  2 Corinthians 2:11 tells us that we are not to be ignorant (uneducated, unknowledgeable, untaught, unschooled, untutored, untrained, illiterate, unlettered, unlearned, unread, uninformed, unenlightened, benighted) concerning the schemes and tactics the enemy uses.  That means that we have to know how he flows and how he moves.  Defeating the enemy of your soul comes from knowing who you are in Christ.  Stop sitting back and crying all the time and learn to pick up the Sword of the Spirit and fight back.

We have a work to do while we are here waiting on the return of our LORD Jesus.  In the meanwhile, Christ has empowered and equipped us for the mission at hand. Mark 16:15-18 reads:15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Peter said to the lame man, "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." (Acts 3:6)  What virtue do you have working in you that you can give out to others?  Ephesians 3:20 states: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.  What power is working in you?

When we rise up and begin to walk in the authority Christ has invested in us, we will tread upon our enemy, and because we are clothed in His armor, we will not be hurt.  You see, the Word is our armor and it shields us from what would normally kill us and crush our spirit.  Instead, we experience the miracle of peace in the midst of turmoil and chaos without becoming exasperated.  We experience running without weariness and the walking without fainting. The Peace that passes all understanding is truly experienced when we have put on the mind of Christ.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
Ephesians 6:10-18

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Art of War 101: A Soldier Without Training

To do the work GOD has called and purposed you to do is going to require a resilient, stubborn, fierce, and fearless attitude. In order to PASS the GO's of life and COLLECT the hidden treasures, you will have to first learn the basic art of War 101: know the Word, encourage yourself in the LORD, obey the Word, and stand firm on the Word.

When you begin to comprehend that fighting the good fight of faith is more than just feelings, more than just mere talk, declarations, professions, and confessions and that it is going to take more than just hopeful wishing, thinking and dreaming is when you will truly begin to experience supernatural breakthroughs.

When you learn to endure the test of time, withstand the harsh brunt of the devilish winds, and when you learn to conquer in your mind all that has spoken against your promise in Christ is when you will witness the prevailing and powerful force of His Hand moving in your situation.

A soldier without training is not a soldier but an unskilled civilian who lacks the laws for the rules of engagement in combat. Such person is inadequate, lacks power, ability, insight, and authority. These are often the first to be taken captive and held hostage as prisoners of war.

It isn't time to quit or throw in the towel. It is time to arise out of your spiritually lax disposition and recognize that until you rise nothing else will. Put on the armor of GOD and spend time in His Word. When you spend time in the Word, you are spending time with Jesus; for He and His Word are one. The Word has the ability to equip, empower, and educate you for your assigned task. You really can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Jesus has already declared the victory but you have to walk it out through faith in what He has already spoken. You can remain in a defeated state the rest of your life and never know victories or you can take up your Sword (the Word) and Shield (faith) and experience victories won right here in the now. He that has ears let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church.

You are Blessed Even When Hated for Your Coat of Many Colors

Go ahead!  Put me in the corner so as not to be seen or heard. I will GROW and while I'm there, I will make it the most beautiful, flourishing, amazing corner in the place. Why? Because the LORD is with me!

People really believe they can stop you. THEY CAN'T!
Remember Joseph? He was imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit , yet, he stayed true to his integrity in the LORD. Even while in prison, his leadership qualities surfaced and eventually, he was promoted to head jailer. Why? Because GOD was with him.

When people throw you under the bus while other watch as others maliciously devise evil against you, don't lose your cool. Proverbs 25:28 says, He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

So restrain and discipline yourself. Stay noble and hold to your integrity in Christ because the LORD is fixing to set a table before you IN THE PRESENCE of all your enemies. You see, there was a famine that was about to hit the land of Egypt and Joseph held the keys and the answer.

Satan is a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  But Proverbs 6:21 and Matthew 12:29 talks about what must be done when the thief is caught.  When he is found, he is to be bound and summoned to appear for a non-negotiable deal. He must then SURRENDER EVERYTHING he has stolen, and in addition, he must pay restitution.

Prayer:  Satan, COME OUT with your hands up because the Blood of Jesus is against you, and I declare every single thing stolen from me and mine to be RESTORED SEVEN TIMES in Jesus' name.  It shall be so! Amen!

Scriptures to Meditate on:
Genesis 39:21-23
21But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer. 22The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it. 23The chief jailer did not supervise anything under Joseph's charge because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made to prosper.

Proverbs 6:31
31But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; He must give all the substance of his house.

Matthew 12:29
Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.

Isaiah 45:3
I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

To Be Like or Not Be Liked

Don't spend your life wondering who will like or dislike you. The enemy uses this old tool as a deterrent to keep you from accepting all that you are and all that you are becoming while confidently utilizing what the LORD has placed in your hands. Many people shy back because of fear that they won't be "liked", not accepted, or enough.

The possibility and reality of it all is this: You won't always be LIKED. A lot of times, it has NOTHING to do with who you are more than it is something deeper rooted that lies within the person that doesn't "like" you. Love them but learn to leave them alone. Keep it moving because you have a purpose and destiny to fulfill and do not have time to be sidetracked by the "disliking committee".

When they reject you, they are rejecting the sweetest thing since Domino Sugar. They are the ones missing out on the sweet blessing of godly, Spirit-filled friendships and camaraderie. So turn your prayers in hopes that the person(s) will allow the Holy Spirit to release them from the root of hate, jealousies, and fleshy competitions. Because at the end of the day, it is ALL ABOUT JESUS and building His Kingdom.

Deterrent
noun: deterrent; plural noun: deterrents
1. a thing that discourages or is intended to discourage someone from doing something.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
James 4:1 - What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?

Proverbs 21:21 - Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.

When the Scratch is Bigger than the Itch

The glow and sparkle of your life in Christ can feel like an irritant to those walking in darkness. It will cut to the heart of man and can feel like burning chigger bites on the skin. When the consciousness of man burns, it is a good sign because it means it's working. Leave them alone because either they will recognize and respond to the call of GOD's light appropriately or they will deliberately shun you.

Jesus' ministry was oftentimes filled with confronting and addressing a "stiffneck" people. It was these who were unwilling to bow to authority and because they were uncircumcised in heart, they were spiritually deaf.

Even on the day of his stoning, Stephen spoke a truth that cut straight to the heart of his persecutors. The Bible says in Acts 7:54 that "now when they had heard this, they were cut to the heart and they gnashed on him with their teeth".

Discernment by the Holy Spirit will allow you to see the "gnashing of teeth" even when it is glimpse through the simplicity of a pretentious smile. But when you do see it, remember, do not overcome evil with evil but overcome evil with good. Still, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!

Shun - verb
To avoid deliberately; keep away from.

Scriptures to Meditate on:
John 3:20-21 - For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.

John 1:5 - The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Matthew 5:15
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Luke 10:16 - He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

John 5:18 - If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

Forget ME NOT! The Butler, Joseph, & GOD

When people forget you, don't worry, GOD NEVER does.  In fact, He has reserved a special place in time of remembrance just for you.  The story of Joseph in Genesis 40-41 brings to mind that when people use you to benefit their mission, GOD has other plans.  (That was your moment TO SHOUT!)

Joseph’s life of integrity proves that despite the pits people throw you into the integrity of the LORD’s hand will always raise you out.  You see, the butler and the baker had found themselves in trouble with the king and as a result had landed in the same jail as Joseph.

While in jail, the butler and the baker have dreams that cause their countenance to fall.  In spite of his present conditions, Joseph finds a way to minister to each and the LORD gives him the interpretation.  When the butler discerned that the interpretation of his dream was authentic and that he was going to be restored to his place back in the palace, he was delighted and hopeful.  Joseph knowing that his interpretation came from the LORD asked one thing of the butler - to remember him by making mention of him and his plight when he went before the king.

Three days later as predicted, the butler is restored to his place and the baker is hanged.  But it doesn’t come as a surprise that after the butler gets what he needs and things are going well with him that he forgets all about Joseph and his request.

In your journey with Christ, you will encounter (if you haven’t already) those who will use your gift and power of influence only for their own benefit.  But what is so beautiful about this story is that Joseph’s life emanates such patience, grace, meekness, temperance, and kindness throughout the entire process.

Being envied and hated most of his life by his own brothers, being thrown into a pit and left to die, sold into slavery, to then being wrongfully convicted of attempted rape by his former employer’s wife, he does time for a crime he did not commit.  I don’t know about you, but I cannot in all honesty confess that I would have behaved as selfless and virtuous as Joseph.  I probably would have been planning my revenge for when I got out.

Two years roll by, and when you think the butler couldn’t behave any worse, the butler finds himself in a grave position because the king dreamed again.  With his position possibly threatened, to save himself, he NOW remembers Joseph.  Isn’t that like people today?  They only remember you when they need you for what you can do for them.

GOD’s plan is always bigger, deeper, and wider than we can ever begin to imagine.  When He allows us to unjustly suffer, we have the Promise of His Word that all things are working out for our benefit and in our favor.  Trust is vital during such a process.

Joseph had NO IDEA that GOD was orchestrating the details of his life and that his appearance before the king would be his miracle of redemption on another level – Prime Minister of Egypt.  The platform was staged and the curtain was about to draw back.  His SETBACK was GOD’s SETUP for his COMBACK.  Redemption was fixing to manifest itself in the presence of all his accusers, thieves, and schemers.

Maintain your integrity and GROW THROUGH your process because when men misuse, abuse, and mistreat you and then benefit from doing so, there is a righteous reward waiting for the heirs of GOD’s Kingdom.  You are the real benefactor!  Wait on the LORD and be of good courage!

You don’t have to cheat, scheme, manipulate, and lie to get ahead.  Doing so is a sure way for the king to get a head (remember the baker!)  GOD has the plan and knows when it’s promotion time.

Those who throw you in the PIT TODAY will have to make an appointment to meet you in the PALACE TOMORROW.  Payday is coming after awhile.

What You Love May Be Your Own Lust

Too many folks lying on GOD by calling their lustful and selfish decisions a "blessing". For them, it doesn't matter whose life they affect, whose hearts they break, whose families they destroy, whose marriage they help tear apart; who they lie on, cheat on, steal from, and the list goes on. All that is cared about is what is "wanted" as the enemy magnifies the "lack" in their life. So, they plunge forward without ever really counting the cost.

BUT NO! GOD is not messy like that! HE doesn't give BIRTH to the chaos we create in our own lives and is definitely NOT the Father of it either. You won't have need for a Maury Povich DNA testing because the fruit that spawns as a result will be a clear indication that GOD IS NOT THE FATHER. For the LORD brings ORDER, RESTORATION, and HEALING, not division and confusion. For GOD is never the author of confusion but of peace according to 1 Corinthians 14:33.

Be careful what you allow yourself to "fall in love with". The love of GOD is first pure and will never lead you away from the heart of His WORD.

The "thing" you yield yourself to all in the name of love has a high price and can be the very thing the devil will use to subdue you. Seek the LORD wholeheartedly and be very WATCHFUL because the ONLY THING you are suppose to yield to is His WORD.

Samson "loved" the wrong thing. It cost him his sight, his freedom, and eventually, his life. He was deceived into thinking that he could "shake" himself as he always did - you know how we do - still go to church, preach, play, sing, and lead on the worship team, dance team, etc. But what he failed to realize is that what he "loved" was out of the will of GOD and IT became a snare unto him.

Sadly, Scriptures recounts that the spirit of the LORD was no longer with him as he shook himself as he had done in times past to defeat his enemies. Samson thought that he could live how he wanted and still move in the "blessing" of the LORD.

How many of us are "shaking" ourselves today? Preaching but there's no anointing, singing but there's no power, worshiping but there's no truth?

Keep playing with sin and eventually it will burn you. Numbers 32:23 says "and be sure your sin will find you out". Sin will SEPARATE you from GOD, his love, his strength, and all that is good and then leave you EXPOSED!

Sin has plans for you, but first it must lure you into making you feel comfortable to trust and relaxed enough to lay down like a dog. At the end, it will make you its master when it finds you sleeping in his lap. ~2013 Daily Doses of Gospel PiLLs

Scriptures to Mediate on:
Judges 16:4-5
Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, "See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so we may tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver."

1 Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

A Biblical Glimpse of True Friendship

There is a commitment that is conceived in the true skirts of faithful servanthood and birthed within the purging fires of GOD's divine plan.

Do you know that there are gate keepers purposely assigned to sabotage the mission of GOD on your life? Although David had enemies who schemed and plotted against him, the LORD always kept him one step ahead. You see, everything they thought David NEVER KNEW, GOD allowed to be revealed without his enemies having any idea.

When you have killed giants and people begin to sing songs about you, it will spark jealousies filled with enough envy and hatred that they will seek a way to kill you.

The "killing" may not necessarily be a physical one like in David and Jonathan's day but it is a killing or "snuffing out" of your message, your calling, movement, influence, power, anointing, expansion, and ministry. It is a warrant sent to stop and keep you from ever advancing.

But the true character of a man is tested and will always surface to the top especially during the fiery times of adversity. And even though pretentiousness paraded cloaked and masked underneath the seams of false friendship, lying lips, and crooked smiles, the LORD gave Jonathan and David insight, wisdom, and favor even when the odds were stacked against them. David's enemies and their corrupted plans were exposed each time as the LORD provided a way of escape for him.

Jonathan's life gives us a Biblical glimpse and insight of what friendship and loyalty really means. The Bible says that Jonathan loved David and he placed his own life and position at risk to defend him. Why? Because that was who he was. He was a just man whose righteous character surfaced during a time where great betrayals, greed, lust for power, and faux camaraderie reigned.

This type of friendship, though a rare commodity, can be found in Christ. For there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
